To build, develop and grow a highly visible youth football program dedicated to the development of the young men in our community. Our goal is to support, encourage and enable youth to benefit from participating in football in a safe and structured environment. Through our programs we teach sportsmanship, fundamentals, teamwork, skills and knowledge. Values that youth will use throughout their lives. We encourage leadership, good citizenship, and above all else to foster unity among youth athletes, through participation in and support of this organisation. Ultimately building a community of youth with character.
The Sexsmith Shamrocks Bantam Football Club is an amateur tackle football team started in 2000 by Kelly Lenek. It was under Coach Kelly that the Shamrocks brought home Championship Banners in 2000 and 2007.
In 2007 the Shamrocks Bantam Team went undefeated. Only losing to Okotoks in provincials. Two former shamrocks play CIS university football - Stuart Schollaardt for the Manitoba Bisons & Kelly Temple with the Calgary Dinos and many others play CJFL junior football for various teams.
In 2012, Troy Bidewell took over as Head Coach. In May of 2013, Sexsmith had its first-ever peewee football club - the Little Rocks - for kids in Grades 4-6. The Little Rocks play out of the Mighty Peace Peewee Football League with teams from Grande Prairie, Wembley and Peace River.
In 2014, we were proud to have so many players come out a second Peewee team, the Little Stingers was started. In 2014, the Little Rocks brought Sexsmith their first ever Peewee Championship banner and went undefeated for the entire season.
In 2017 Sexsmith expanded again adding an Atom Team to their Franchise. The Little Clovers were added for aspiring football stars in Grades 2 and 3.
